Fascinating. I am convinced my 20 yr marriage collapsed not due to the usual issues, but due to 'death of a thousand cuts' of a leftwinger and a woke farleftwinger disagreeing on every last issue. They went so woke I was happy to get out and meet sane liberals.

I'm considering it for sure. However, the book contains several reflective questions, worksheets, etc., so an audiobook for this version might be a little awkward. I do hope to find a way to do this eventually. Thank you for your support!

Great ideas can also be the source of positive social change and progressive human development, as in the cases of the American Revolution, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Cuban Revolution, among others in the Global South and East less known and appreciated in American political culture.

EHT makes sense. But where is the magic wand to implement it at scale? I can choose it, but my neighbor may not. In K-12 schools? We need to vote in a receptive board. In places of worship? On social media platforms? We have major challenges in a democratic society tuned into consumerism. It would be easier with a top-down political leader, but that would defeat, I believe, the purpose of EHT. So, I am persuaded but depressed at the same time.

Thank you Joe. I encourage you to lean more into your persuasion than depression. Real, long-lasting, positive social change takes time, and all we can really do is live our lives in ways that inspire others to emulate. As far as the "magic wand" for implementation, I do have a professional development/consulting model that I work with schools, businesses and communities. However, from 2017-2021 EHT was gate kept by my profession. Since 2021, EHT has also been gate-kept by the "anti-woke, anti-SEL, and anti-CRT." Maybe now, things will be different, and EHT can flourish and replace the status quo of our fear-based, tribalized, and groupthink-based culture. Finally, I think of EHT as a bottom-up approach. When enough people utilize the EHT to filter their thoughts, feelings, and behavior, they will change the systems and institutions they have influence over. I wrote the book mentioned in this article for those interested in creating positive change in their lives and communities. Perhaps history will reflect on this book as the magic wand that turned things around?

Very interesting! It's the first time I'm hearing about your theory/practice, but from what you describe in this essay it could help a lot of people.
