Had he been found guilty, it would have ended anyone stepping up to help the helpless in these situations. Public transit would have gone from bad to worse.

It has gone from bad to worst; the illegal alien setting a woman on fire and standing by watching while, apparently, no one helped her. She's dead now, and he'll probably just get an appearance ticket and be deported, again.

Undocumented migrants have a lower crime rate than Americans.

Those data are unavailable, so you're wrong. There is no consistent reporting of the crimes of illegal aliens, nor is there a reliable estimate of their numbers, so you don't have either the numerator or the denominator to determine a crime rate.

Writing as a 29-year data scientist (Statistician), in NYS, we don't even know all of the property tax rates by jurisdiction (county, city, town, village, school district) because the State can't get all of the jurisdictions to respond to supposedly mandatory questionnaires. The FBI has an even worse problem with crime statistics because the reporting is optional.

Arrest rates for one State, Texas, compiled by some US government agency that's part of the DOJ do not support your comment, which referred to Americans, not Texans. Arrests do not make a crime rate; only convictions.

If you possessed true insight, you would recognize the matter as inconclusive, considering the absence of definitive evidence regarding the existence of God.

Additionally, I spent 34 years with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation overseeing a deportation unit, and earlier, I contributed to a mental health program at the California Youth Authority. I did not employ prolonged chokeholds to restrain unarmed wards or inmates.

I'm an atheist: God is not dead, it never existed.

My initial comment made no reference to crime rates, only to the fact that the person arrested for setting Debrina Kawam on fire in the subway, Sebastian Zapeta, is an illegal alien, who had been previously deported. Are you denying any of that?

I don't need the insight to which you refer; I already have it, stating previously that the crime rate for illegal aliens in America was not known because we know neither the number of illegal aliens in the U.S.A., nor the number of crimes they've committed. So no crime rate for illegal aliens.

Your link is meaningless, as it refers to data from the Texas Department of Public Safety estimating the rate at which undocumented immigrants are arrested for committing crimes. Many are arrested who haven't committed crimes, and Texas is not America, fortunately. And the data are from 2012 to 2018, before the Biden deluge of illegals.

Adolf Hitler and his allies used flawed reasoning when they murdered 6 million Jews and sterilized German-Black citizens.

What a retarded thing to say. An uninvited stranger doesn’t belong in my house and I use the “same reasoning” when I kick his ass out. Your point?

That may be true but that gives little consolation to the family of the woman set on fire in the NY subway, or Laken Riley’s family, etc. or the multiple women raped in NY, and the 12 year old girl in Texas murdered by undocumented criminals? Why can’t we agree that all violent criminals should be deported and kept out for good instead of being allowed to continue to re-enter the country? In most of these cases there was a deportation order issued but were able to stay or avoid deportation.

My chief concern at present is the increasing prevalence of white supremacist ideologies and the associated rise in political violence among individuals of a white demographic, significantly fueled by the rhetoric and actions of Donald Trump and his allies.

The concentration on deporting violent undocumented immigrants has been ongoing (nothing new). These particular crimes are used to manipulate many whites who fear the increasing browning of America. Whites are projected to be a minority group by 2043 with dwindling effective narratives.

My family is from the Commonwealth of Dominica (often confused with the Dominican Republic, trying to explain my heritage has always been irritating for this reason 😣).

You may be surprised to hear that my mother is a diehard Democrat, she was well-vexed when I refused to support Biden in 2020, and baffled when I didn’t vote Kamala two months ago (I intended to vote Green but I was sick and couldn’t go to the polls…).

But my mother has always seen racism as a reason to strive to be better, not worse. My mother, brother, aunts, uncles, and (many many) cousins have all made decent honest livings and actually achieved the “American Dream”, I’m lucky and grateful and proud of us. 🫶🏾

Anyone who has grown up in a city and/or is a frequent user of public transportation has seen their own “Jordan Neely” and can picture his PHYSICALLY THREATENING behavior without even being there.

The real racism is that Jordan’s behavior is accepted as “normal” and/or “permissive” and/or “understandable” because of his race; this is so debasing and insulting.

People (regardless of their race) who actually live and/or work on a daily basis in any city know that this behavior isn’t right - it’s racism that prevents them from saying the obvious:

anti-social behavior is not acceptable for a society that wants to live in peace.

Make Jordan white or Asian (of any colors) and this is a non story - regardless of the race of a “Daniel Penny”.

Mentally ill people know the difference between threatening and non threatening behavior. When they don’t - they are usually UNaware of the people around them and act out regardless if people are present or not. Just watch all the homeless walking around talking/yelling to “themselves” and physically lashing out when no one is even near them.

Jordan’s threats were pointed and specific. Society can’t undo the injustices done to him as a child by his family and/or some predator. I can’t include the “system” in this blame game because Jordan has neighbors, class mates and other (black) people in general who have similar or worse life stories and don’t threaten death to people in their immediate area.

It’s no accident that the threatening and/or similar behavior we see from the “mentally ill” who “can’t help themselves” manifest themselves the minutes the train door closes and/or there isn’t a uniformed police officer within shouting distance.

I agree one hundred percent that good liberals and progressives are to blame for deaths like Jordan Neeley’s. The mental heath institutions of the past were exploitative and abusive. There’s no getting around that fact, but the community mental health system that replaced it did no favors for anyone, especially for the severely mentally ill, whose families have little recourse to hospitalize their loved ones and get them help in crisis situations. I understand why people are uncomfortable seeing others committed to institutional care. It’s a very serious move against someone’s freedom and autonomy. The thing is, though, Jordan Neeley and others like him can’t exercise the responsibilities to others that come with the right to community life. Progressives need to understand that at that point, it’s an issue of safety for the mentally ill AND those around them. It’s sad that Jordan Neeley lived the wrecked existence that he did. It sucks that he died. But Penny isn’t the problem here. It’s progressive mental health policies that are.

Jordan Neely's parents and relatives are responsible for his death.

His father was out of the family until he just recently filed the civil lawsuit.

His mother had multiple boyfriends the last which killed her when Neely was 14.

No one in his family including the aunt that condemned the verdict took Neely in, he entered the foster care system.

His father and aunt should be prosecuted.

So it wasn’t time to burn(B), loot (L), and murder(M)? I hold my tongue when criminals give all black people a bad name. Do you see Jewish homeless people terrorizing moms and small children on NYC subways? No. Do you see Indian homeless people terrorizing passengers on NYC subways? No. Do you see Igbo immigrants threatening to kill passengers minding their own business on NYC subways? No, no and no. I won’t say more because I hold criminals in the lowest possible regard. I really, really do. Thank you for an honest and courageous essay.

Indeed it’s sad! In the process of drafting this article, I asked FBT if there were any left or center sources we could use, to appear as objective and unbiased as possible. But no, I tried searching and saw that only the Daily Wire and Evie Magazine would touch the new revelation about the NYPD letting Neely die.

For a while now, we have been caught in this vicious cycle. Certain facts become taboo and un-PC, so the mainstream media refuses to touch them with a ten foot pole. So only right wing rags will report on those facts, bc it’s in alignment with their agenda. And then, progressives and the public take that as a reason to disregard the facts, bc they MUST be “right wing propaganda”. Idk how we can get out of this downward spiral

Thank you for your very thoughtful essay. I appreciate your truthful and logical arguments as a pale-skinned retired LAPD officer. It would be worth investigating the facts of the George Floyd situation where officers were unjustly jailed. Tragically George passed from a drug overdose.

I am sad to say that because of decades of leftist assaults on standards, including moral standards for police, the resultant behavior has led to far too many uses of unconstitutional excessive force up to and including murder under the color of authority. This goes along with the militarization of local police agencies and consent decrees that undermine local control by the citizens and more under the control of the totalitarian federal government. I am deeply ashamed of what my former department has become. Not that there are not decent officers, but the fact that they are far fewer than previously. It is the system that has become authoritarian over the population. Rather than serving the people who pay them, they protect the corrupt politicians who want power over the people and demand that law enforcement agencies enforce their growing police state. Truth does not have a color or race. Christ came to unite us. Satan sows hate and division. I am so happy to have found this site.
